Belt purse: women's accessory trendlet (Written by Tania Braukamper) Fashionising.com
Belt purse at Jaeger London, SS11
I hazard to use the term 'fanny pack' (or, 'bum bag' as it's colloquially known in Australia and the UK): not only do such terms lack elegance, but they tend to hark back to the days where such items were made from neon coloured nyon and fastened around with parachute clips. More importantly though, the term is not entirely accurate as it relates to this particular fashion trend in 2011; as an accessory trend it has not only moved on, but moved up - several inches.
So we'll label this trendlet affectionately as the belt purse or belt pouch - 2011's elegant take on the fanny pack.
The belt purse: what is it??
This one is fairly self-explanatory. It's a small pouch or purse that's worn strapped around the waist or hips. The pouch can be a seperate accessory - removable, and able to be interchanged with different belts; or can come attached to a strap.

It's best when sitting higher, at the waist, to create a sophisticated shape and to seperate the look from being too functional. That said, it can also work at the hip or lower-slung for a more casual take as long as the style is elegant.
Either way, go for luxury fabrication: leather belt purses are definitely best, and the strongest style for 2011.

What to wear it with
- A waist-cinching leather belt with a little belt bag / belt purse is perfect for pairing with a long, flowing maxi dress.
- With some tassel detailing to add a luxury bohemian touch, a la Emilio Pucci pictured above.
- Through the belt-looks of a sophisticated, high-waist pair of tailored pants or flares.
- With a clean, minimal cocktail dress for evening time, perfect for storing a credit card and a lipstick.

2011 short haircuts trend (Pixie crop haircut) By Fashionising.com
So many of the year's trends are about a revival of fashion from the 70s, and it's no different for 2011 hairstyles. Of course, the pixie crop isn't a new hairstyle for the year: Fashionising.com has been writing about its popularity and evolution since 2007. And in 2011 the pixie crop will do just that, evolve. Or at least, revert. Spurred on by celebrities and trend influencers, such as Emma Waston, the pixie crop returns in 2011 to be a short crop - putting it in contrast to the longer interpretation of the hairstyle that was popular in 2010.
Pixie crop with long fringe
Hair trends have recently moved in three year cycles, and it's been no different for the pixie crop. Hence we now see the pixie crop return to being a very short hairstyle (as it was back in 2007), though in 2010 the pixie crop was a haircut with a longer fringe. Of course, just because a longer cut of the pixie crop was popular in 2010 doesn't meant it has to stay there: though not precisely on-trend it remains a perfect take on the haircut for those not willing to go to the very-short extremes, and also those without perfectly straight hair.
If you are looking for a longer cut to a pixie crop then we recommend you look to actress Carey Mulligan for inspiration (more pictures at the bottom of this page) and wear it with a brow length fringe swept to the side and held in place by a pomade.

And, finally, some inspiration from the last time the pixie crop was on-trend.
Michelle Williams was one star who took the daring move from long hair to pixie crop. This drastic short style worked to give her a very innocent appeal, though with more of a boyish take on the haircut. Another celebrity who sported the cut was Natalie Portman, whose fringe often wasn't pushed forwards.

Lingerie / Swimwear Spring 2011 Colour Trends By Fashionising.com
Along with their take on the motifs that we'll be wearing in Spring 2011, Interfiliere have also released their interpretation of the season's colour trends. Their choice for the colours you should be picking for your swimwear and lingerie are an eclectic range of hues, and ones better suited to swimwear than they are to the boudoir.
CLOTHING / FABRIC Spring 2011 Colour Trends By Fashionising.com
For their take on the colours for Spring 2011 clothing trends, cloth manufacturers Lenzing believe that we won't just be throwing off the darker colours of Fall 2010's trends but possibly even the mentality that has gone with recent financially tough times. Thus they see Spring / Summer 2011 colours as those which are "uplifting" and "soften, energise, and excite."
For the Spring / Summer 2011 season they've put forwards five key colour trends.
Celebration
Spring personified in a palette, the colors that make up this Spring 2011 color trend are mostly named after flowers: iris, viola, daffodil, poppy, and geranium. Unsurprisingly, should this color scheme take your fancy, this one should be worked into your Spring 2011 wardrobe as a part of your florals.
Abstraction
I must confess to not liking this color palette in the leastl the turquoise clashes with the maroon to my eye, and how yellow green made it in there has left me stumped. This is one color trend for those who are loud and proud.
New Classic
According to Lenzing new and unexpected twists on classic elements, and naturally bright pigments, will develop into new classics. "Fabrics are classic, materials the same but all elements are somewhat twisted: fibers in unusual yarn-spinning and -counts, classical weave patterns in atypical materials clashed with a curious checkered design, an embroidery where you didn't expect it - nothing loud, just enough to make you startle."
Aqueous
Sitting as our favourite Spring / Summer 2011 color trend 'aqueous' is also the most dangerous. An obvious color theme for Spring 2011 because of its nautical tones, such obviousness is also what is likely to see it lazily interpreted and applied - a danger for designers and labels looking to apply seasonal colors to their basics. To avoid such misapplication Lenzing believe it should be used with "floating" pieces where the fabric is the focus; an interpretation of the sheer clothing trend seems a strong contender if you intend to work this color theme through your wardrobe.
Perleage
Subtle colours, bar for the jet black, this is a color trend all about sheen; in effect, luxurious and radiant colors menat to match with your radiant Summer tan.
